MedCardMD is based in Huntington, at 2828 1st Ave, Suite 204, but our certification visits are 100% virtual. That means the process is the same whether you live in a city, a small town or a hollow at the end of a long gravel road. If you have a phone or computer with a camera and a reasonable internet connection, you can meet with Dr. Robin Arora, MD from home.

Because the medical cannabis program is run by the state, the requirements, fees and timeline do not change from one county to the next. You get a physician certification, then complete your registration with the West Virginia Office of Medical Cannabis.

Why virtual visits work well here

West Virginia’s mountains and winding roads can turn a short distance into a long drive, and weather can make travel unpredictable for part of the year. For patients living with pain, neurological conditions or fatigue, skipping the trip is often a big relief. A telehealth visit lets you focus on the conversation with the physician instead of the logistics of getting there.

• $150 initial certification and $100 renewal, charged only if approved
• The state’s separate $50 registration fee, paid through your OMC profile
• Records showing a prior qualifying diagnosis
• Cards that typically arrive 10 to 15 days after certification and payment

Every certification is handled by Dr. Arora, who is board-certified in internal medicine, nephrology and addiction medicine. Patients in the Eastern Panhandle get the same careful review as patients down the street from our Huntington office.
